During character creation (but before defining the Legend), characters may, if the ST wishes, choose a Starting Boon. These Boons all represent a special gift or talent that your character has, and will shape how they grow throughout their adventures. Boons are permanent, and you only ever get one, so choose carefully! A list of example Boons is presented below, though players are encouraged to work with their ST to ensure that they have a Boon that suits them well. Upon selecting your Boon, immediately apply the information defined in italics to your character.
Bookish: You are particularly studious, and much prefer your books and their knowledge to most else. Choose three non-combat, non-interaction Skills or Fortes. You gain 4 Ranks in each of them for free.
Devoted: You are a particularly zealous soul, and hold in your heart a drive that surpasses that of your peers. When defining your Legend, you start with an additional 4 points to disperse between your Aspects.
Heirloom: You are in possession of an item that has remained in your family for years, passed down from generation to generation. You begin play with one tool, armor, or weapon of Masterpiece quality.
Massive: You are an incredibly large specimen, and you know how to use your size to your advantage. You may add 2 additional, free Successes to your Final Result when performing Physical Power Tests. In addition to receiving its normal benefit, any time you spend an Emblem on a Communicate:Coercion Test (or someone else spends one for a test in which you are Collaborating), you (or your ally) also gains Advantage for the Test.
Miniscule: You are a particularly small person, and you know how to use your size to your advantage. You gain 4 Ranks in Mobility and Stealth for free.
Tough: You chew iron and spit nails. You are one tough mother. You can never die as a result of a Level 9 Wound going untreated. If you do not receive any medical attention within 10 minutes of getting the Wound, however, your Mental immediately drops to 0.
